Every soul in Eon is born into a house. Nine now, seven once — Forgers who wield unbreakable blades, Beacons who summon flame, Seekers who see through dark and distance, and stranger houses still, each carrying a gift no other can claim.

But houses are only birthright. Realms are chosen. And Eon is a place not all are permitted to enter. The Remnant fall among them, living upon borrowed land in the midst of Eon. 

Ansel and Amara Everhart don't know any of this, they know Montana.

The siblings follow their father on another space research expedition. It's Amara’s 17th birthday and she’s looking forward to opening another letter from the mother she lost too soon. 

Then the sky opens. Their father disappears. And all the weight of Eon’s truth and fear descends upon them. They have ties to this hidden world, places in a house, and positions among opposing realms.
